Eurovision Song Contest 2013 - The Post Eurovision Depression Cure: Over
the next few weeks Radio International delighted to be your cure for
the Post Eurovision Depression. All you have to do is to listen to the
weekly editions of Eurovision Radio International which features many
stories, interviews and music from the 58th Eurovision Song Contest that
came to you from the Swedish city of Malmoe. This week the Post
Eurovision Depression Cure starts with the Top 5 countries interviewes
and the songs. Congratulations go to Denmark who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song " Only Tear Drops" performed by Emmelie de Forest.
Denmark received a total amount of 281 points. Below the runners up of
which Radio International will also air interviews during the show this
week.

After the Grand Final's Winner Press Conference JP and Bert met the
backing vocalists of the winning act from Denmark and had their
reactions of being part of the winning song. Listen to JP chatting with
Heidi and Anne. Due to time contraints this interview will be aired on Radio International next week.
South Africa's Lee Scott: Joining us live in the studio is South Africa's Lee Scott and Record Company Representatives from www.artistwarehouse.co.za
who are known to produce covers of Eurovision songs in the Afrikaans
language. Lee and the team will be in the studio the entire length of
the show and listeners are encouraged to ask their questions to the
artist and the record company representative - you can do this by email
clicking on CONTACT or in the live stream chat room.

Interview with Farid Mammadov (Azerbaijan 2013): Azerbaijan almost won the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the amazing Farid Mammadov who represented Azerbaijan with the song " Hold me" reaching Number 2 with a totoal of 234 points. The Team of Radio International had the pleasure to meet him for two interviews. The first and shorter interview is aired in this week's edition of the show. Interview with Margaret Berger (Norway 2013): Norway's ambassador to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 was Margaret Berger who represented the country with the song " I feed you my love" which came 4th in the Grand Final. The Team of Radio International on location had the pleasure to conduct a short interview with the young artist. Hear it on the show this week. Interview with Birgit Oigemeel (Estonia 2013): Estonia's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 is performed by Birgit Oigemeel who will be performing her song " Et uus saaks alguse"
in Semi Final 1 at Number 2 but not totally alone - she is expecting a
baby and the Team of Radio International wishes all the best of luck not
only for the outcome at Eurovision 2013 but also for the birth of the
baby. JP and Philip from EurovisiOradio had the pleasure to interview
the charming singer at Eurovision in Concert 2013.

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - The 2013 Review with Ross Bennett: Sadly
for many fans the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 is over, however, it is
nice to take a look back at the event with our correspondents. This week
Ross Bennett returns to the airwaves and takes a look at the
Balkan countries which were not qualified for the Grand Final of the
Eurovision Song Contest 2013.
Eurovision UnderCover: Last week, Radio International started a brand new series on the show featuring Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich
will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest

International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision
performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in
collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International
with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc
closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs
which are being featured on the show.

 As the Team of Radio International is in Malmö, Sweden at the
Eurovision Song Contest Radio International
broadcasts its traditional programme " Eurovision 2012 meets Eurovision 2013"
as a review to last year's Eurovision Song Contest entries and a look
ahead of the songs that are competing in 2013. This way you can compare
the songs per country. Last week Radio International broadcast Part 1 and this week Radio International is delighted to bring you the Part 2 of the mini series.
39 countries are competing for the trophy and the right to host the
Eurovision Song Contest 2014. The countries are distributed into two
Semi Finals and the Top Ten of both Semi Finals meet in the Grand Final
on the Big Five (Germany, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Italy and the
host country Sweden.
Semi Final 1 of the Eurovision Song
Contest 2013 took place on Tuesday, 14 May 2013.
Semi Final 2 of the Eurovision Song
Contest 2013 is on Thursday, 16 May 2013.
The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be on Saturday, 18 May 2013.
All three shows come from the Malmö Arena in Sweden and who fill follow
in the footsteps of Loreen as Winner of the Eurovision Song Contest? :)
May the best song win and now enjoy this week's three hour Eurovision
extravaganza.

Eurovision Song Contest 2013 - Radio International Pre-Voting: The Results. Thank you to the many fans, listeners and viewers of Radio International who took part in our annual Pre-Voting of the the songs that are competing at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Radio International asked the fans to send in their favourite Top 20 of the 39 Eurovision 2013 entries. The result is out and is published throughout this week's show. At this point Radio International would like to thank Robert Wahlstroem from Gothenburg in Sweden for his active participation in counting all the votes that came in over the past few weeks.
Eurovision in Concert 2013: A 5th and very successful edition of
Eurovision in Concert took place Saturday, 13 April 2013 in Melkweg in
Amsterdam, The Netherlands where 25 artists of the Eurovision Song
Contest 2013 performed and with this promoted their song with which they
compete at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmoe, Sweden May 14,
16 & 18. The Team of Radio International were on location and
conducted interviews with some of the artists within a speed
interviewing session during the sound check on Saturday afternoon. This
and next week Radio International will focus on broadcasting those
interviews. At this point Radio International would like to thank David
Mann from Eurovision Norwich and Bert Ouwerkerk for their hard work in

Interview with Emmelie de Forest (Denmark 2013): Denmark will be represeneted at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 by Emmelie de Forest with the song " Only Teardrops".
Pretty much from the day of selection of "Only Teardrops" as Denmark's
entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 it become a huge favourite to
win the Eurovision Song Contest. But this of course remains to be seen
in Malmö when the 39 countries meet in two Semi Finals and the Grand
Final on Tuesday, 14 May 2013 (Semi Final 1), Thursday, 16 May 2013
(Semi Final 2) and the Grand Final on Saturday 18 May 2013. Denmark
will be in Semi Final 1 Song Number 5. David Mann met and interviewed
Denmark's hopeful for this year's Eurovision Song Contest in London
which you can hear it on this week's edition of Radio International.
Interview with Koza Mostra & Agathonas (Greece 2013): After
last year's Eleftheria Eleftheriou who represented Greece in 2012 with
the song "Aphrodisiac" this year Greece sends in a band singing "Alcohol
is free". The band hails from Thessaloniki in Northern Greece and have
taken on board Agathonas as support. Greece will be in Semi Final 2 at
Number 9. The Greek delegation is always one of the nices delegations at
the Eurovision Song Contest and JP together with David met the band at
Eurovision in Concert 2013 in Amsterdam for an indept interview with the

Interview with Amadine Bourgeois (France 2013): Following in the footsteps of Anggun to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, Amadine Bourgois
is the Ambassador of France directly qualified for the Grand Final as
France is one of the Big 5 countries of Eurovision. This year's offering
is called " L'enfer et moi". Eric met Amadine at Euovision in Concert 2013 for a brief interview.

Interview with PeR (Latvia 2013): Latvia will be represented by PeR (Please Explain Rhytm) with a kind of Britpop sounding song called " Here we go"
which will be starting off Semi Final 2 of the Eurovision Song Contest

Interview with Zlata Ognevich (Ukraine 2013): This year's entry
from the Ukraine and with this following in the footsteps of Gaitana who
had the energetic "Be my guest" in the Final in Baku - is Zlata Ognevich
who successfully won the national selection process in the Ukraine and
will be representing her country in Malmö, Sweden in Semi Final 1 at
Number 7 with the song " Gravity". Eric and Bert met and
interviewed the singer at the fifth edition of Eurovision in Concert
2013 in Amsterdam on 13 April 2013.

Selection Season 2013 is over and all 39 songs that compete in the

16 May 2013 (Semi Final 2) and 18 May 2013 (Grand Final) where the 39

Interview with Cesar (Romania 2013): Romania will be represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 by Cesar who sucessfully won the Romanian National Final earlier this year. The song is called " It's my life"
and will be in Semi Final 2 of the Eurovision Song Contest
at Number 17.
Eric met and interviewed Romania's hopeful for this year's Eurovision Song
Contest at Eurovision in Concert 2013 and you can hear it on this

Interview with Valentina Monetta (San Marino 2013): San Marino's hopeful and Ambassador to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 is no stranger to the Eurovision World as she represented her country San Marino already in 2012 in Baku with "The Social Network Song" which failed by a small margin to qualify for the Grand Final. The song was written by German composer Ralph Siegel and they teamed up again for this year's Eurovision Adventure in Malmö, Sweden. An amazing diversity Valentina shows in performing "Crisalide" which is in Semi Final 2 at Number 2. Clearly, a fans' favourite and one hears only good about it. David Mann met Valentina at the London Eurovision Preview Event on 20 April 2013 and delivered an interview you can hear on this
week's edition of Radio International.
Interview with Alyona Lanskaya (Belarus 2013): Alyona Lanskaya is representing Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song " Solayoh".
Belarus has a kind of a "traditiion" in having a national final with a
winning song but then change either the singer or the song. In 2012,
Alyona Lanskaya was the winner of the national final but then Belarus
sent Litesound to Baku to represent Belarus at the Eurovision Song
Contest. Alyona Lanskaya submitted a song again this year called " Rythm of Love"
which won the national final but then the song was replaced by
"Solayoh" which will be competing in Malmö in Semi Final 1 at Number 11.
JP & David met Alyona at Eurovision in Concert 2013 in Amsterdam

Interview with Roberto Bellarosa (Belgium 2013): Following in the footsteps of Iris who represented Belgium in 2012, Roberto Bellarosa will perform " Love Kills"
in Malmö at the Eurovision Song Contest in Semi Final 1 at Number 15.
The Belgian national final was done in a radio show in December 2012

Interview with Krista Siegfrids (Finland 2013): Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be represented by Krista Siegfrids with the song " Mary me"
in Semi Final 2 at Number 5. Although also having been part of the line
up of Eurovision in Concert 2013, Radio International's Nordic Reporter
Lilian Brunell had the pleasure to have a Tete-a-Tete meeting with
Krista in Stockholm and interviewed the singer. Radio International is

Interview with Aliona Moon & Pasha Parfeny (Moldova 2013):
Pasha represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku
with the song "Lautar" reaching Number 11. In his group of backing
vocals was Aliona Moon who this year is the main singer representing
Moldova in Malmö singing the ballade "A mie" (A million). The song was
written by Pasha Parfeny who also plays the piano on stage supporting
Aliona at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013. So we will see him again. JP

Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight - The 2013 National Finals with Alisdar Rendall: The
National
Selection Season 2013 is over and all 39 songs that compete in the
Eurovision Song Contest 2013 were chosen. The Eurovision Song Contest
2013 will be staged in Malmö, Sweden on the 14 May 2013 (Semi Final 1),
16 May 2013 (Semi Final 2) and 18 May 2013 (Grand Final) where the 39
countries will be competing for the trophy and the rights to hold the
Eurovision Song Contest 2014. This week Alasdair Rendall returns and and will tell us his favourite Eurovision 2013 songs and why.
Eurovision UnderCover: Last week, Radio International started a brand new series on the show featuring Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich
will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest
entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing
the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the
cover. Enjoy the brand new series. Listeners are encouraged to send in
their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the

Eurovision in Concert 2013: A 5th and very successful edition of
Eurovision in Concert took place Saturday, 13 April 2013 in Melkweg in
Amsterdam, The Netherlands where 25 artists of the Eurovision Song
Contest 2013 performed and with this promoted their song with which they
compete at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmoe, Sweden May 14,
16 & 18. The Team of Radio International were on location and
conducted interviews with some of the artists within a speed
interviewing session during the sound check on Saturday afternoon. This
and next week Radio International will focus on broadcasting those
interviews. At this point Radio International would like to thank David
Mann from Eurovision Norwich and Bert Ouwerkerk for their hard work in

Interview with Marco Mengoni (Italy 2013): Italy will be represeneted at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 by Marco Mengoni who won the San Remo Song Festival 2013 in Italy earlier on this year. The song is called " L'essenziale"
and since Italy is part of the Big Five of the Eurovision Song Contest
and with
this directly qualified for the Grand Final for Saturday 18 May 2013.
Eric met and interviewed Italy's hopeful for this year's Eurovision Song
Contest at Eurovision in Concert 2013 and you can hear it on this

Interview with Gianluca Bezzina (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2013): On
Saturday, 02 February 2013 Malta selected their entry to the Eurovision
Song Contest 2013 with a young medical doctor by the name of Gianluca Bezzina who will be the Ambassador of Malta in Malmoe waving the Maltese Flag and singing the song " Tomorrow"
which won Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Gianluca was also part of
the line up of artists performing his country's choice for the
Eurovision Song Contest 2013 at the 5th edition of Eurovision in Concert
2013. Since JP already did a fully blown interview with Gianluca in

Interview with Ryan Dolan (Ireland 2013): Following in the footsteps of Jedward to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest, Ryan Dolan
successfully won the Irish National Final in the Late Late Show and
will be the Ambassador of Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013.

Interview with Nodi & Sopho (Georgia 2013): Georgia will be represented by Nodi & Sopho with the beautiful ballade called " Waterfall"
which will be starting in Semi Final 2 at position Number 15 at the
Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Both singers are huge artists in Georgia
as a duo but also as soloists. Find out more about the singers by

Interview with Moran Mazor (Israel 2013): Born in Georgia but now living in Israel Moran Mazor will be representing Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Semi Final 2 at Number 10 with the song " Rak Bishvilo" which translates to " Only for him". Eric met the singer in Amsterdam at Eurovision in Concert for an interview.

Interview with Gerard Joling (Netherlands 1988): Special guest
at Eurovision in Concert 2013 was Sweden's winner of the 1991 Eurovision
Song Contest Carola. Dutch TV took the chance to invite Carola to their
weekly TV show called "Life 4 You" which is broadcast out of the
legendary Hilverssum studio complex. Also guest was Gerard Joling who represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 with the song " Shangri-la"
reaching Number 9 when the Eurovision Song Contest came from Dublin,
Ireland with Celine Dion winning for Switzerland with the song "Ne
partez pas sans moi". JP and Eric were backstage with the singer taking
the chance of an interview where Gerard also expresses his opinion
about the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest.
